Nick Taylor

Nick Taylor — $1,000

Supplement cost for caregiver to travel with athlete to International Tennis Federation (ITF) Wheelchair Tennis Tournaments.
For the two tournaments that you guys helped me get through, they were two important steps in qualifying for the Beijing paraolympics, it’s a great start and I appreciate the help from GFFT.
Charles “Goose” Doughty

Charles “Goose” Doughty — $1,500

Support 9-week summer tennis Tennis Foundation program for at-risk youth.
We’ve got 150 or so kids, most of them from disadvantaged backgrounds. These are kids who would not have the opportunity to play tennis otherwise, and the GFFT grant is a big help. It’s all about the kids, and tennis is the vehicle we use to reach them.
KVC - GFFT Recipients

KVC Behavioral Healthcare — $1,000

Help fund foster children in athletic activities. Linsey Coster, KVC Area Supervisor, says:
KVC is extremely honored that we were chosen for a GFFT Grant. The physical activity is such a plus for foster kids, but beyond that, it gives them the opportunity to build relationships with other children and interact as part of a team.

Mary Benton Elementary School — $2,500

Assist with development of a 3-phase playground improvement project currently underway. According to Benton Principal Ann Welborn:
The GFFT grant will be applied to an overall fund-raising campaign for construction of a ½ mile long walking path and fitness stations. The funding will benefit all of the school’s 400 K-5 students as they strive to adopt more healthy habits.
